New Patients
The team at Embassy Row Orthodontics believes in treating people. We believe our service is more than just tooth straightening or correcting bite problems. Our goal is to make your decision about doing something good for yourself an easy one. It is important to us that you are comfortable, well informed of your treatment options, as well as understand how you will benefit from orthodontic treatment. We have great options even for people who think they would never consider orthodontics.
Our first step is to get to know you, find out more about you, your lifestyle. We want to understand your specific concerns, goals, and expectations. Once we know what your wants and needs are, we will tell you about our practice and how we can help you achieve your goals.
During your consultation, Dr. Wayne Hickory will conduct an orthodontic examination and provide you with a preliminary diagnosis and treatment options. An X-ray may also be taken to help determine the appropriate treatment. Photographs will be taken to communicate to you and your dentist. We will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have such as:
- Whether or not you need treatment?
- To what extent treatment is necessary?
- Is treatment needed now?
- What orthodontic appliance is best for you?
- Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
- What you should you expect during, and after treatment?
- Estimated treatment time?
- Retention considerations?
- How much will it cost?
- What are your payment options?
Age 7 is recommended for an orthodontic consultation so that we can advise of the best time for treatment. There are often special opportunities regarding jaw growth and the eruption of teeth.
We use all types of braces and digital orthodontic technologies including Invisalign®, Incognito™ Braces, OrthoCad and SureSmile™.
We have a non-extraction treatment philosophy. However extraction of one or more teeth can sometimes give a more aesthetic and healthier result.
Most patients comment that the process is much easier than they expected.
We use accelerated orthodontic techniques. Many patients today are treated in less than a year.
We have a simple program to ensure long term retention.
Our fees are very comprehensive with few if any added charges.
We facilitate Insurance claims, use of flex spending accounts and easy payment plans. Impressions, photos and/or an optical scan may be needed to start your treatment. This is true for OrthoCad Braces, Invisalign®, and Incognito™ Braces and SureSmile. This may be done at your consultation visit if time permits or at a follow-up visit. We believe in a team approach to orthodontics and it includes you. Your participation and commitment to orthodontic treatment is essential for its success.
